Io, Ego e Inconscio

Three maidens, echoing the Three Graces painted by Sandro Botticelli, dance in a circle, playfully entwined with one another. They personify three aspects of the human mind: the I, our conscious self, the part in the light (here the maiden is blonde) the Ego, the self with its grandeur and vanity (super-ego) the Unconscious, with hair half blonde and half black, as is her skin—symbolizing the unknown within us (she faces away, hidden). Their dance moves between harmony and chaos, a reminder that our minds are sometimes as unpredictable and mercurial as dancers in motion.
