In a sea at the edge of twilight, when the sky turns violet and the waters grow dark, a couple in love looks toward us, content in their shared state: a man, Gianluca, and a girl—me, painted in an idealized, romantic version. During the time I was with Gianluca, I chose to capture him in my favorite setting: the beach. The figures were painted in part with my fingers, blending colors softly (as in my hair). Our heads are painted yellow, almost as if to hint that beneath this relationship lies a layer of hidden falsehood. The background is made of three simple horizontal color bands: sand, sea, and sky. The sun nestles inside the triangular shape formed by my arm.
