Donna-tigre con volto di ghiaccio
2007 – Acrylic on canvas – 150x150cm
A figure with a body of fire and a head of ice, like a modern mythological being: this unknown woman inhabits her own flesh with passion, while her head—the seat of thought—stands alone, light-years away from the rest of her body, as if crystallized and in pain. The tiger-woman cries for help in silence: within her lives the dichotomy of heat and cold, the suspension of feeling born from racing thoughts that paralyze the body. The distant palm trees in this cosmic low-tide landscape heighten the sense of isolation and stillness of a woman torn between instinct and reason.
